GM Planning Win Appeal

GM Planning has won planning permission on appeal for the removal of a holiday occupancy condition on a barn in Chilsworthy Devon.

The Planning Inspector accepted that the holiday business which had been run for 10 years was not a sustainable commercial enterprise. In addition he agreed and concluded that the house and barn had clear associations with the construction and subsequent operation of the now disused Bude Canal and considered the buildings to be of historic interest and thus an undesignated heritage asset.
In reaching his overall conclusions he stated the removal of the restrictive holiday condition no longer served a useful planning purpose and that its removal would accord with criterion (3) of Local Plan Policy DVT2C.
