GM Planning win appeal

GM Planning has won planning permission against Torridge District Council on appeal for the Change of Use of a former PO & Stores to a residential dwelling.

The planning inspector concluded that the development would not unacceptably affect the community, social or economic needs of the village and that there was no material conflict with LP policy HSC22.

He went on to conclude that he considered that a departure from the strict application of other applicable criteria is warranted given the degree of enhancement to the Conservation Area that would arise from the improvement to the physical fabric of the village. This is an important consideration to which he attached considerable weight.
